The End of the Earth Photography Tour !
Join us on a eight day tour of the most picturesque lighthouses and seascapes Finistère & the Côtes d’Armor have to offer. Finistère (derived from Latin “finis terrae”, meaning the end of the earth) has an unspoilt and savage coastline which is quite spectacular and unmatched anywhere in the world. There are 148 lighthouses in Brittany, and we have found the most breathtaking ones for you to photograph! This tour will leave you with some serious images, not to mention a host of new photography techniques. We’ll also take you to some hidden gems in Brittany that only our local knowledge can provide.
This photography tour starts and ends in Jersey. We stay in Jersey for one night at the beginning of the tour and one night at the end of the tour. Our first photo shoot is the stunning La Corbiere lighthouse which we’ll shoot at sunset. La Corbiere was the very first lighthouse to be built in concrete and it’s situated on a rocky islet cut off by high tides. Next morning we’ll travel by ferry across to Brittany and spend the week taking you to some hand-picked locations. We'll head down south-west of Quimper and over the following days we'll travel around the Brittany coast in a clockwise direction. We’ve chosen some very special French lighthouses to photograph and we’ll help you create some winning images. We devised this tour following a research trip around Brittany to identify the very best of Brittany's numerous lighthouses. There will also be opportunities to shoot other distinctive locations such as sea bathing pools and also some urban / street photography inside the walled city of St Malo.
This photography tour includes overnight accommodation during the tour dates and transport to and from the various photo locations during your stay. Ferry fares from Jersey to St Malo are also included in the tour cost.
Whether you are just starting out with photography or are a seasoned pro, we’ll take you on a unique photography journey which will include one to one photography tuition and masterclasses in landscape photography techniques. We’ll follow the light and explain how to get the best images from each location that we visit.
Time spent out on location can be devoted to perfecting a variety of photography skills, perhaps working on getting good compositions, using available light, learning creative camera techniques or learning how to use neutral density filters for long exposures. Naturally, we’ll include image editing techniques back at base to ensure that you take home some winning images. Our wish is you leave with a new technical understanding of your camera gear and a streamlined workflow for you to use in the future.
Jersey is easy to get to – it’s less than an hour’s flight from various UK regional airports. Check out Blue Islands, FlyBe, EasyJet or BA. If you live near Poole, you could come over on the fast ferry with Condor ferries.
