“Master the technical to free the creative….”
Suitable for both beginners through to intermediate photographers, this carefully designed course will help you understand how to make the most of your camera equipment. Our view is that once you get a basic understanding of the technical aspects of photography, you can then go on to be more creative and get the results you want. The course will run on two Tuesday evenings and two Saturday mornings. The evening sessions are held in a classroom setting and the Saturday mornings are field trips to different locations to put into practice what we have covered the previous Tuesday. The course is interesting, exciting and fun and it’s great to be out photographing with a small group of like minded people and learning photography techniques that you can use again and again. Working with one of our professional photography tutors, you will get plenty of opportunity for individual tuition throughout the course in this small group workshop. The topics covered include: Mastering exposure, Focusing, Composition, Good / bad light?, What is metering and how to use it, Image critique, What kind of photographer are you? Identifying your equipment needs, Editing steps / Workflow advice.
The format of this Digital Photography Course is as follows:
The first session is a classroom session on the first Tuesday evening (6pm to 9pm)
The second session is a field trip out in the landscape on the first Saturday morning (9.30am to 12.30)
The third session is back to the classroom on the second Tuesday evening (6pm to 9pm)
And the last session is another field trip on the second Saturday morning (9.30am to 12.30)
The group is deliberately kept small so as to ensure individual tuition during the course. Most makes of digital cameras are suitable for this workshop, provided your camera allows control over aperture, shutter speed and focussing.
